En-suite Makeover Case Study: Custom Wall Panel

When looking to transform their outdated en-suite, Sharon and Gary knew they wanted to create a unique interior statement and add a touch of their personality.

Prior to the transformation, the en-suite had remained the same for more than 12 years and was in need of modernisation, in particular the shower area which had a clunky sliding door and no longer worked in the space.

To maximise the use of the space available, Sharon and Gary opted for a walk-in shower, featuring a chrome overhead drencher and separate hand shower, and replaced the sliding doors with a sleek glass screen.

With a minimalist walk-in shower, the couple wanted to use this space to be bold with their interior design and create a dramatic statement and achieved this through large-scale bespoke wall panels, from Showerwall. The unique and vibrant bespoke wall panels feature an up-close shot of a female face, with strong piercing eyes and an array of bold colours, from fiery orange to deep purple.

Sharon and Gary then opted for mustard yellow wall panels, colour-matched from the bespoke panel, for the surrounding walls within the shower enclosure.

Speaking of the bespoke wall panels, Sharon, who works for Sean Brown Plumbing & Heating, commented: “We have three bathrooms and have used these rooms to go bold with our interior choices and have opted for very different look for each one – with one bathroom a dramatic black colour scheme.

“For this space we knew we wanted something bold and different to traditional en-suite designs and were delighted when we found Showerwall’s Custom Acrylic service, which meant we could pick a design of our choice to be printed on the wall panel.”

“The whole process from start to finish was really easy and the design team at Showerwall couldn’t have been more helpful. Once we’d chosen our image to be printed, we were able to see a preview and receive a sample to make sure we were happy with the design, it’s positioning on the panel and the colours.”

To maximise the impact of the vibrant wall panels and create contrast, the rest of the en-suite is crisp white, including the hexagonal floor tiles.

Commenting on the finished look, Sharon said: “We fitted the Showerwall wall panels ourselves and we couldn’t be happier with the transformation of the en-suite. We wanted something different and we’ve certainly achieved this with the bespoke wall panel design. The wall panels are extremely low maintenance and so easy to keep clean, which will help give the en-suite looking new for longer.”

The Custom Acrylic Collection allows you to choose from a library of images or use your own design, such as a piece of artwork or a favourite photograph, to create a bespoke wall panel.
