The bathroom may be one of the smallest rooms in the house but it shouldn’t be overlooked from an interior design point of view. Bathroom trends for 2022 are incredibly exciting with lots of bold colour, shapes and texture being incorporated. If you’re planning a bathroom renovation now is the time to be bold and embrace the hot trends for 2022. We’ve teamed up with Lucy Nash AKA Victoria Road Restoration to bring you five trends for this year:

Luxury home spa

After spending so much time in our own homes over the last couple of years, it’s no surprise that a key bathroom trend for 2022 is creating your own little piece of luxury. The at home spa experience can be created using luxury fittings and fixtures, double sinks, rainfall showerheads and clever use of lighting.

Gold taps, marble surfaces and lots of clean lines all help to create the feeling of a spa in your own home. Put on your slipper and robe and relax in your zen like space.

To create a super luxe look in your bathroom the Showerwall Bianco Carrara design is perfect, striking white marble with statement veins.

Maximalism

The trend of mixing patterns, colours and textures has been a major trend across the world of interior design and is set to continue. Bathrooms can be given the maximalist touch using wall panels, such as the Showerwall Oriental or Vintage Birds designs, rugs and gilded mirrors. Don’t hold back and really go for it with an eclectic mix of prints and colours.

A feature wall or statement splashback using Showerwall’s Vintage Birds design is the perfect way to get the maximalist look. Mix with other vintage treasures and patterns to create a curated but eclectic look.

Sustainability

We’re all becoming more aware of the impact we’re having on the world and looking for more sustainable ways to renovate and decorate our homes. Using reclaimed sanitary ware or up-cycling sideboards into vanity units is a fantastic way to resume unwanted items. Not only is this helping the environment but it gives your bathroom a unique and personal touch.

To enhance pre-loved sinks and bathroom suites, clad the walls in natural looking wood effect Showerwall panels, such as the Nautical Wood design, to add texture and a nod to the outdoors.

Bringing the outside in

Connecting with nature is proven to help with our mental and physical wellbeing and finding ways to incorporate this into bathroom design is becoming increasingly popular. One simple way to make your bathroom feel like the great outdoors is to incorporate houseplants into your design; plenty of pots, hanging plants or even living walls help promote a happy healthy space.

Think about using natural textures in your bathroom too; wood and stone add warmth and depth to your bathroom design.

If you’re a fan of the botanical look and aren’t afraid to be bold, the Showerwall Botanical or Bromelia wall panels will make you feel like you’re on a tropical holiday.

Curves

Clinical lines are out and curves are in! Kidney shaped sinks, egg-like baths and oversized round mirrors all help to create a softer bathroom space. Do away with harsh lines and use curves to give the bathroom a better flow and appear bigger. The easiest way to incorporate this trend into your bathroom is to use round mirrors and enhance the curves using LED lights behind.

Lots of manufacturers are now creating sinks, vanity units and baths with more curved lines, this will transform your space and immediately give it a modern feel.

To complement curved bathroom suites and accessories, Showerwall’s Scallop panels work perfectly. Available in blush, sky blue and marble, the panels will help to create a beautiful soft and relaxing bathroom space.
